Putting my Gen V 454 back together bored 60 533/533 flat tappet (non roller) camshaft, converting to adjustable valves and when putting in cam I don't remember if it had a camshaft retainer or not, everything I have read says it doesn't need one unless using a roller cam but I can move camshaft alot back and forth even with dist in I can still move it. Does anyone know if this will be alright before I crank this engine and ruin it? I have read the camshaft has special features that keep it self centered but I am a little unsure. Any advice would be appreciated. Ken
