I have a 1966 elcamino 4 spd car that i want install a gen v 454 in.I have read that there is no boss for the z bar ball stud. However a GM tech stated the 502 gen v can be drilled and taped for the ball stud.Is the 454 and 502 the same cast, and can it be drilled on the circular boss above the oil sending unit hole?

Check this out.No drilling on the block needed. This is attached via the bell housing bolts.

This may or may not fit your bell housing, but it'll give you the general idea for fabricating one of your own.

Or maybe think about a hydraulic setup.

THANKS FOR THE INFO.THE BRACKET YOUR ARE TALKING ABOUT WILL ONLY FIT A $600 QUICK TIME BELL HOUSING, AND WILL ONLY ACCEPT AN 11 INCH CLUTCH,NOT MY NEW $400 12 INCH CLUTCH.LOOKS LIKE HYDRAULIC IS THE WAY TO GO.
