I would like to see the small cube engines built. Chevy 305 and 307 engines really rebuilt with nice compression. We have a couple street classes that have to run these engines (GM 5.0). No one ever want to look at them besides throughing a couple parts at them with no work to the block, crankshaft, connecting rods and pistons. We have a really nice circle track 5.0 class that would surpise some people but it is kept so quiet. We have an SS 5.0 drag class (bracket) that are also surprising. Just looking to shine some light on these engines.

Just like any other engine induction is the key!
I ran a 331 ProStock engine in my ChevyII for nearly Forty years. I had a hell of a time with it. It was my money car. I was spinning it near 9500 in the lights. You can put a cam and do some head work on a 305.
I know I own a 86 Monte Carlo SS and I wouldn't touch it.
