Keep the LS1 Camaro/Firebird as the meat and potatoes of the magazine. They are truly the reason for the LSX movement and the showcase of top LS engine potential. Also, the LS1 Camaro/Firebird is out there in the numbers needed, and in the hands of the right guys, to become some of the greatest muscle cars of all time.

I think alot people are forgeting the tried and trustworthy LT1-LT4 more people own a LT1-LT4 considering the amount produced during those years compared to the LS1 98-2002fbody anyday. Many of these LT1-LT4 are making 9-10 sec daily drivers without .N20..N20 is the cheap mans way of achive a good track time  no offense meant to those using it's just my humble opinion, I'd rather have the rwhp there all time.

Who want to go out on satuday night street car and and open there bottle, make temp is high enough and psi are at around 1000 plus worrying about purging, many in the street car genre use the moto "Real race don't wear bottles"

Here's my two orange lincolns. Now I'm probably wrong here, but didn't they build a baby LT1 that was in the caprices' and other econo GMs? It displaced like 4.8 or .3, or whatever. Why not de-stroke a 5.7 LT1, it makes like a 302, install some beehives and a rev happy cam, clear the way for some air with an upgraded intake and headers, swap over to a coil on plug arrangement and take the opti-crap out of the equation, add the injectors and related fuel hardware, safeguard the oiling system with an accumulator. Stab it in a stripped out f-body with a six-gear and some beefed suspension, rev the snot out of it, and enter it into N.A.S.A.'s Camaro mustang challenge or some type of racing series and go for broke. Of course doing it on a weekend racers budget would be a plus. Better yet, I'll do it, send me the company credit card, I'll send you some pics and some pages. Whaddya say, eh? You could call it the D-Z28, sort of an homage to the classic racer built for trans am racing.

The under-rated and under-appreciated LSJ cars (Ion Redline/Cobalt SS/SC).....the two liter, factory supercharged variety of course.  I can appreciate a 9 second straight line car, I just prefer dropping 260 whp on a twisty course.  The 2.0 LSJ was WAY under-rated at 205/205 crank.  My recent dyno showed 218.9/199.6 in stock trim.  Factory Stage II boosts that by 40 hp, not including any breathing mods.

Oh, by the way....the land speed record for G/Blown Fuel Altered is held by....an LSJ. 246 MPH from an 800 HP two liter.
