with one of these....

with a current limiting power supply... some test leads to apply positive 12 volts and negative... and a 5 watt L pad pot... probably 1K ohm.. (not audio taper..)


on 3 terminal gauges... one positive... one negative and a variable resistance pot to negative... to test the gauge...

on 2 terminal gauges... positive on one side...  variable resistance on the to ground on the other..

i have not tested the AMP meters in gm applications...

i would just like you to verify that the gauge terminals is properly connected to the printed circuit ...  and that the printed circuit is properly positioned over the opening in the cluster... so the connector which aligns with the hard plastic back of the cluster but requires the printed circuit be properly positioned for the connector blades to properly line up ...

there are speedometer shops in many towns.. who can test your gauges in minutes if you carry the cluster in...   if they worked before. something is just not right..
