I own a '67 427/400 roadster and was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to either "quiet" the existing original side exhausts or how to replace them, yet keep the look of the original. I love them, however I am tired of getting a headache!!
Thanks,
Randy

stainless steel chore boys....    shoved in.. and held it with a long screw from the unseen side..

there are different brands and different amounts of stainless steel turning in each one...

in fact.. my ford van has side pipes... and i am really tired of them... i guess i will do the same thing...  this has been done for decades to quiet motorcycle exhaust and dune buggy stingers...  it really does work... not great for the HIGH RPM blasts..

just look for really course curls.. you want to restrict some of the exhaust..  if you don't like it.. pull the screw out and rev the motor..

you can push it in with heater hose...
