I AM STARTING ON A 1967 427 4SP CAR AND HAVE A BLOCK THAT HAS THE CASTING  #S   390435 . YES.... WITHOUT THE ONE . MY QUESTION IS DID GM EVER MAKE A BLOCK THAT WENT IN THIS CAR WITHOUT THE ONE? OR IS SOME ONE TRYING TO SELL ME A BILL OF GOODS? IT DOES HAVE THE HIPER CASTINGS ON THE OTHER SIDE . PLEASE HELP!

thats a good question.. and something that needs researching...

any chance its a tall deck block... that somebody carved the numbers off..

3904351 1967 427 385, 390, 400, 425, 430, 435, 2&4 bolt
3904354 1966-67 366 tall truck

almost anything is possible.. but sand falling into the depression is more than likely.

hopefully somebody will know more.. you might want to post this over at

http://forums.chevyhiperformance.com/active-posts/index.html as there is a LOT more forum member activity over there..   i seem to be almost alone here answering as many questions as i can..

and yes... people will do all kinds of things to make their cars worth more money to sell them..

there have been complete replicas of exotic cars produced in europe.. and attempts to sell them as long lost originals...
