How does everyone feel about installing digital gauges in place of the factory analog displays in a C1? Blasphme or giving a classic some modern accents?

Personally, I like the analog gauge look, but have installed both. I'm into the retro-mod cars, and like to convert the gauges to run with the modern electronics, but maintain the stock appearance.  I just finished a 61 with an LS6, and I'm having a tough time making the the tach work.  It's converted to an electric unit. The computer apparently puts out a square wave instead of a voltage pulse, so the tach won't read. I'll figure it out sooner or later.  I used a pretty neat gadget to crank the speedo.  It's called a Cable-X box from Abbott industries.  It converts the 6 speed transmission pulse to a motor in a little black box that drives the speedo.  Really works nice.
