hello everyone,i just joined up so please bear with me. im gonna get right to the point, I have a cdn built 1966 chev impala with a 327/powerglide setup. my question is the stamped number on it is frustrating to say the very least. it reads 81 66254 9. every site ive been on tells me the# should start with an HC then a series of numbers.any help to solve this mystery would be tremendously appreciated! thank you.

it should  end in the ID suffix..

post the V0123AB or V0123ABC numbers.. from the right front block surface...

the back of the engine has the casting numbers on the drivers side..

the julian date on the other.. julian dates look like this.. (\)B147(/)

that would be feb 14 1967, 1977, 1987...  can you see how that works..

those numbers are the only 1,s that are on that machined pad at the front pass. side of the block. the engine appears to be the 1 that came with the car according to the build sheet and tha general appearance of the car as a whole. when I get her out in the spring im gonna have a look at the casting # and see if that helps me. thanx for the imput so far.

post all the numbers on the pad and the casting numbers on the back of the block and small date code next to the distributor.
