When I was racing back in the early 2000s Turbos were becoming the hot ticket. I considered switching to one back then but the cost was prohibitive for a full racing setup. Around 16-18 grand for a full setup with stainless headers, sheet metal FI intake, intake cooling tank, and all the related electronics that went with it. Some of the guys even then were hitting over 2000 flywheel hp and that was with a much smaller engine than I had. I think I could have hit the 2000 mark easily with mine but the fact that I could not get what I had to the track and the high cost made me give up on that idea. A Turbo does not hit as hard as nitrous initially so I most likely would have gone quicker.

what you really want is nitrous with a supercharger.

Getting all the power to the ground is a bigger challenge than making power.,. I solved my problems with a 20 foot pickle fork boat and a 300 foot rooster tail.
ALL my power got used.,. I later went with an 8-71 huffer, 7 lbs boost, 7% under drive.
The boat didn't squat when punched.,. it jumped out of the water.
Wearing seat belts was prudent in that boat, so as not to get bucked off.

Me too. If its loud and smells like internal combustion, I'm in.  Smile  If it never hooks up at full throttle, thats overkill to me.

I have a daily driver for when i want to sleep on the way to work.

even though the 2000 hp might not hook up well i'm guessing it still might be putting as much tractable hp to the ground as the 1200 hp car.

either way, i'm plenty happy with too much hp in an occasional driver.

i'd rather sit there, then hit the throttle and spin the tires until they catch on fire instead of putting all the hp to the ground and lifting the front wheels off the ground.

i might get beat in a race that way but i'll have a lot more fun loosin than the other guy did winning.

maybe i'm a wuss, lol.

Looks like fun Tuff.
I must admit pulling the wheels gets a lot of attention, it looks good and even is fun in the car.
My Camaro pulled some good ones but it's 60' was .2 slower than the Beretta which only pulled the front wheels about 4" for the first 40'.
