Have a gm383zz crate motor with a gm alum high rise intake. This manifold doesnot have any water jacket for the rear cyl.(7&8) The holes in the heads are plugged off. Is this the way to go or do I need to run some type of bypass hoses. Engine runsabout 190 degrees on a 90 degree day                                   Shriker

as far as i know, no smallblock manifolds transfer water from the rear side.   its all done up front.   i wouldnt worry about it.

Temp sounds good too. I wouldn't worry about it either.

I agree with RedneckJoe. On our race engines we tap the rear and make a crossover for the coolant to circulate, If you do that be carefull you get the the crossover fittings in the center of the manifold and head. Or you just wasted time and money, Your coolant temperature is fine @ 190*. You can use a 5/8" to 3/4" crossover fitting if you decide to the crossover. You can make a template
Small blocks are a well designed little air pump. Just a little FYI: The temperature will vary if you use the head or the intake for your sensor. If you use the head the temperature maybe higher....Have fun!

I agree with REDNECKJOE. There really is NO need to make a crossover on the rear of your intake manifold. On our race engine we run a crossover on the rear.
Your engine temperature is fine at 190* Have Fub,,,,,

I also run run twin fans inboard that have lasted
over 6 years without any traumas...Why bother???

Thanks a lot guys. Looks like I was concerned over nothing. I did find the directions that came with the intake manifold and they said to do the by-pass. I guess as long as the temps are o-k I`m o-k                            Shriker
