so today im scanning old posts in super chevy, pop rodding, hot rod, and then i come upon a post in car craft, most cubes from a 350 type block? it got pretty ugly, and one guy kept claiming a 350 could go to 468 cubes, but offered no info while another guy was posting info that 414 cubes was all you could get. any body got any idea how some one can get 468 cid from a 350 chevy case?

i guess a 4.250 bore X 4.125 stroke would give ya 468 cubes.  big dollar parts though.

Doubt you could get a 4+ inch stroke in a stock block.

Getting a 3.75" stroker crank parked in a 350 SB requires grinding.,. I doubt a 4" stroke crank would clear the pan rails.

Just for comparison,,,, a Big Chief intake gasket on top of a Vortec.

honestly?... you ARE an informed individual sir. you've NEVER heard of the 414 cube combo? i KNOW for sure that people have built that combo [really, really] before. i also know for sure that ron shaver of shaver racing engines built a 400 block based out law sprint car engine in 1982-1983 that used 0.625" deck spacers [with head gaskets between the block and spacers] and had [8] sleeves. he used crower billet con rods, ugly, butchered small base circle crower billet roller cam and crower billet 4.125' stroker crank. mucho block machining. ask ron or bruce about it, im quite sure they cant forget the first B-I-G cube mouse. and im quite sure YOU know who BOTH of them are.

dond, you're chiding me with your covert remarks.,. you have your mind set to prove your point and quite frankly I suggest you reconsider your stance.
I stated a simple fact that I had doubts a long arm crank would clear the pan rails of a 350 SB.
SO, my friend let's not weave aftermarket blocks into this, in case that is your next trump.,. there seems to be little I can post, that you won't contradict,,,, is there?

Naw, you don't owe me anything and I probably took your post the wrong way.,. it's not a big deal and it's all good now.

i cant get it to work since they changed the log in procedure. IDK if i'm using the wrong e-mail or password, or what?  if you can fix me up, that'd be great.

heres a 4.000 stroke crank in a stock 350 block.  but after reading it i found myself asking why go through all that for less than 400 cubes, (396), ?    why not start off with a 400 block?
