i want that stuff that makes my fuel smell like cotton candy or jolly rachers but will my 400 handle it? it has stock heads and stock pistons and a mild cam, if i will hurt it then what do i need to do to make it where it will run on it?
                                 thanks!

Go to your local drag strip.
They normally have several different octane ratings there.
Be aware that it cost 12-18 dollars a gallon when I stopped racing in 08.
I don't know which one smells like cotton candy but they do have a different odor.
You can generally advance your timing some and you might gain some performance.
It also can be mixed with regular 93 octane to get a mix and vary your octane with say a 50-50 blend.
This never caused any problems with my engines but I always had forged pistons.

Unless your compression ratio is above 11:1 you're really just wasting money (and alot of it!). I just bought 6 gallons of 110 to mix in my Camaro last week, it definatly didn't smell like jolly ranchers.

I think this is what he is looking for:

simply adds some fragrance to the fuel

That sure sounds more like what some average Joe would use considering the cost of racing fuel.

I know they used to make additives. I was thinking I used to see them in either Summit, or speedway motors catalogs. But it was just a additive you added in your fuel.
