Nope.. all that was done on 275's. DJ's quickest pass on 8.5's is 5.02.
The record on 235's is held by Ryan Jones with a 4.80@158. The record on a set of 8.5 slicks is 4.96. I have the best 60ft on 8.5's on the west coast with a 1.23  Some guys back east have been 1.19

Damon, Good to see you are looking in. Man I really wanted to come and Play, I'll never give up on trying to get there, but sadly 0 help and the only thing that can replace that is to pay someone else, there's still Lotto.

not to be one who argues, but pleading ignorance... i DONT know whos who {DJ?} all i know is i went to check out 8.5 tire racing, and a web site for the team afromaro pops up. car is a 68 camaro, says theyre using a pro charger, efi, and heres what a 1.17 time 60 foot looks like on a 8.5 tire! the screen is posting a 4.70 time in the 1/8 mile at 150 mph! that IS wicked fast! dont know if its bull crap or not! like i said, 1974 nitro funny car times by big hitters in the 1/8 mile!!... gooday

Dond, these Guys change tire size and Type, slicks/drag radial fast as I change Shorts, Damon (quicknotch) DJ (afromario) ryan (toster) are the class of the Field, their times change a few tenth's depending on the tire, all are Damn Fast. In 1974 they Still ran a 1/4 so add about 2.5 sec. to the time For a 1/4 opposed to 1/8 so Low 7's at 180's is what we would see. read the yellow bullet.com "lets talk drag racing" there is a thread for 8.5 racers and that is where these guy's Post. simi-entertaining.It would be better If I had a car.

skylark, seriously, i attended my first drag race at the age of 4 years old, richard schroeders  emerald chevrolet sponsored, bad bossanova injected nitro 1966 nova is now etched in my mind till death!!! that was 1966!! i saw some footage of 1974 funny cars on the 1/8 mile, and those were the kind of times they were posting bro!! i KNOW funny cars competed on the 1320 for decades in the nhra [now 1,000 feet] but in the late 60's-early 70's promoters used to get funny cars to match race on non nhra tracks, and some tracks were 1/8 mile jobbies!! see what im sayin now home boy?

That is actually good to hear. I know Henry D works his butt off to make this magazine appeal to all sorts of car enthusiasts. Just like most of us, our motorsports aren't limited to just one area.
