Get with Chris Alston. That would be the safe way to build a chassis.
Don't piece any parts together. You have to think safety.

Back in the day we put Small Blocks in Corvairs. But we always thought about safety. I look at it this way. Would you buy a $5.00 helmet?

Wouldn't it be easier to build a Vega or Monza that already has a frame instead of re-engineering an entire car, unless you're going for one-off high-dollar unique.

You can put anything into almost anything with enough skill, money and knowledge.
I would want to have a full cage and chassis under that Cavalier if I was going to run one. With enough power you could twist that unibody frame into a pretzel.
The Beretta I had was stock when compared to the space shuttle. Smirk
It did have a stock grille, headlights and tail lights. Everything else was aftermarket. The full moly tube chassis was by Don Ness who still builds Pro Stock cars. The body was ALL fiberglass and the motor was a BB chevy but the only thing from GM on it was the aftermarket GM symmetrical port style heads.

You can know about 3800 series 2 performance parts that are available online to buy. You can purchase it before knowing all details regarding it.

1977 pontiac sunbird. Like a monza or buick skyhawk. I have owned sunbird with chevy 350 turbo 400 6 cylinder rearend, nothing for hiway but what a sleeper it was. 1978 monza spyder was a beast smoke a 1990 mustang g.t factory for both. Finding one of these is probably gonna be as hard as fitting a v-8 in a cavalier.
