ok starting camaro upgrades, got my new cell, and starting on rear end. I had air shocks on rear cause it sat lower then front. I am putting comp eng drag shocks on it so i know it will sit lower again. For a drag car i would not think it would hurt it but it looks silly. Will having my springs rebuilt help me. But i had that done on a jeep once and then the rear sat 3 inches higher the front and i dont want that to happen here, any ideas

look at speedway motors catalog for new springs in rear  they have GM and Chrysler leaf springs at various weight cars and get a pair of sliders for the rear.are you going with ladder bars or Cal-tracs or what ya thinking?

just some comp eng traction bars, dont have money for ladder bars, i was cutting 1.60 lights with stock springs and air shocks so i am ok with just upgrading my shocks. Rather spend money on a cage and a seat and a harness.

if it sits too low, theres always shackles.   you can get them with multipe holes for some adjustability.      theyre more reliable then air shocks.

did you ever put subframe connecters in your camaro Jpatt?   probably a good idea to go along with the cage.

not yet, when i am welding on my cage i will put them in. Still have to decide between a 8 point and a 10 point cage, not really a big price increase so i may go with a 10.

well i started shaving weight, i took my 16 gallon cell out along with brackets. Took both seats out and carpet with that underlay thick crap that was under it. I used the right glue when i put that carpet in cause it did not want to come back out. With just the seats and the carpet i bet i removed over 50 pounds. Still have to remove my inner fenders so about another 20 on them. My kirkey seat weights 9 pounds and whatever the bracket weighs so that will ga back in. But my old 16 gallon cell needed 10 gallons in it to race without cutting out and my new cell is only a 5 gallon with a sump so that extra 5 gallons is about 40 pounds right. Still got along way to go my cage will weigh 100

If you don't see any out of round ring gear holes,no cracks around axle opening/twisted splines,go for it,bearings?/reason for not using it?
