Matt you do really nice work.

I don't know much about what you do. But does your work go to the Sema Shows and the Rod and Custom shows? Just curious.
That Maroon you spray is a favorite color of mine. I also had good luck with cars that were Maroon.

Yes Bob, we had two in the last SEMA show and just had some in the Starbird and Goodguys shows. Gary tries to hit all the regional ones but just sold his Chevy. If you walk up to a magazine rack right now and pick up a Truckin' magazine, we have a silver F100 on page 74 (April, 2013 #4). We may expand soon, to also specialize in off-roaders and big 4x4s.

My bad- this one was given the chip resistant treatment but with glossy clear, not semi-gloss. Easy to clean!

Almost there! All that red is covered up now. You know when the painter starts laying down seam sealer, color isn't far behind. Cab and parts should be shot this week if all goes according to plan, still haven't seen the bed.

Well, yep she finally got wet.  Cool

This is that Harley color I mentioned previously. A three-stage Deltron basecoat. You can see where we didn't make the firewall perfect. They couldn't afford any more than what we did. That paint color is loaded with gold pearl, as you will see when I catch it in some sunlight. Perfect for showing off the smoothed curves of the beautiful 55-7 body. Walk around it and scope it out ...

Here are the other parts that showed up. Still haven't seen the bed itself.

Dig how they made these exhaust tips into the side step. I think it might rattle like crazy.

More painted parts. The doors are still in the booth. Bed showed up, and one of the fenders has a giant clearcoat run in it, that was sanded out previously. So we may have to do more work there than anticipated.

The cool part that I forgot about is that its getting a flame job. Just one coat of clear so far, on the front end bolt-ons because flames will be applied then more clearcoats and buffing. That means we will have to at least mock up the cab and front clip so the design can be laid out. No clue yet which type of flames.

When they hauled the bed over to our shop the other day, it was strapped to a trailer. Well one of the straps got under a wheel, and the bed was damaged on the top of both sides when the strap yanked too tight. So right after they did a bunch of work welding things up, modifying the bed corners, and adding a roll pan for tail lights, they promptly bent it up. We all looked at it and figured new bedsides would be best, but boy they are high plus then we'd have to redo the custom work on them. If you laid a board over the length of the rail, you can slide your hand under it at the dent! Worse than it looks.

Heres a pic of it being bondo'ed and blocked with "the stick", another guy is doing that. The fix was simple and miraculous. After some awkward beating and banging, I did some noggin-scratching on it. We ended up turning the bed upside down. One side at a time, I blocked the ends of the bed rails and had a heavy man basically jump up and down just right while I eyeballed the bed rail and guided the weight and pressure. Dang if it didn't straighten right out that way! Got a straight line back, anyway. I knocked out most of the remaining ripples and away we go without spending a bunch of extra money!

One step closer to flames on the front. Yeah it ought to be mocked up on the frame but this is what we have-

Yeah I think photobucket is going downhill faster than service at banks. I will give it another shot when time and inclination hit again. Connection was giving me fits while I was trying post and that didn't help. Saved the post I was trying to make so I won't have to start from scratch just fix it. Might have flames on the '55 by then, lol. I'll git-r-did but maybe after supper.

Here we go, everything seems to be working right now. We got over 5" of rain here yesterday and it was messing with my connection I guess.

Here are pics of the painted but not yet buffed bed. Cool flush LED tail lamps  Smile

I wish I could go to town on mine too, Joe! If it ain't time its money. But yeah that truck is gonna be really trick looking, I can't wait to see if I like the flames they are going to put on it. Applying those would seem to be the next step so we're not done yet. Not sure if we will do much final assembly, hoping they let us put the painted stuff together before the customers pick it up. I wanna see it all together but I may have to wait and catch it at a car show!

Saweet!  the ole chevy is coming along nice!   Yall did good on the bed damage.  Thats when you know your dealing with many years experience!
I can see yall circling the damage, and diving in to see if it would work.  All ye could have done was 'not fix it'  LOL.

when I get to a situation like that,,,, creativity is your best friend!
