Joe I ain't did nothing but maybe a little maintainence on my 'junk for quite some time. This last hail storm has some more bondo crackin on ol' purple, pinion leak, steering box leak, trans leak too. All I can seem to do is keep pouring. Got me a parts car with tilt/guages/buckets/console and everything else, so I've been studying on some interior upgrades. Think I'm gonna end up with two ashtrays and gloveboxes in there! Anyway thats whats going on in my world- nothing to spend on projects, just gas and oil and nothing better break!

I would have fired that guy for showing too much butt crack anyway, lol.

Saw somewhere in the news where a guy got three days in jail for being in contempt of court because the judge didn't like saggy pants. Dang thats nine squares some taxpayer could have eaten!

wassup fellas! yeah I rekon we do indeed need a junk thread LOL.

My camera is dusty as an old barn attic!  but I/we me and bro have in fact been very busy out in the shop!!

Motor pulled out of chevelle and installed into my newest family member a 1980 4x4 truck
New welder added to the shop
full drive train rebuild less engine on a 1984 Cj7, seemed to take forever!!!!!
I got to setup my first ford 9 rearend, (so easy I could have let my boy do it)!

then the Cj5 my bro owns gets a front end overhaul and while it was down I welded up the carrier so no b/s 3 wheel drive

Oh I rebuilt the front end on my 4x4 and also welded the front carrier!  Its strictly off road if you lock the hubs!  hits the trail awesome though!!  Oh and swapped the factory 2.76 gears!!! for some 3.73 and now it feels like it has at least 20hp, when I first got it going I though something was wrong with the motor it was so weak, and combined it with the new 33/12.50 mud grip tires, whew what a slug!!

3.73  gears swapped into ole blue, much fun to drive now.

Chevelle is now on my bucket listFrown  but I am hoping to start ordering some parts in the near future.

wifes camery got a new catylitic converter, MAN those things are expensive!!!!! $200, I am glad I am my own mechanic!

We been hangin out more off road here lately with jeeps and my truck, so naw junkman I aint fried the tires in quite a while.  I think its time to turn ole blue out for a spin!

Howdy Chevelle!  Cool

Don't let that car rest too long! Good place to do your first LS swap.  Wink  Grin

2.73s sure do make anything seem slow, now stop welding up carriers and start doing tubs and rollbars!

I'm saving up for the ZZP downpipe for my black GP, my OE flex joint rattles bad. But you get stainless flex joint, hi-flo cat, and all for about $200 with gaskets and a little better flow as a side benefit.

Surely you can squeal tires on gravel, like on TV!  Laugh  I bet ol Blue is fun as a barrel of monkeys.

Good to hear an update from ya, and that you've been busy offroadin. I have been doing the usual terrorizing backroads with the purple GP. Man you gotta get that thing pointed straight before you mat the gas, its ferocious! Have fun and holla!

lol lark, sup fellas.

once upon a time in my wilder days, I fell over a recliner chair, with a full beer and didnt even slosh it out of the can!  I was proud of that I remember embracing the moment,,,, barely,,,,,, LOL

you know spilling alcohol is in fact alcohol abuse!  Smile

long day at work for me today!! busy and workin my azz off as usual,,,,,,,.   im off tomorrow and back again tuesday night.  whew rotating shifts are making me old much faster rate than I like!!!

Yes junkman,,,,,,,,,,, I did in fact install some extra roll bars in that Cj7,,,, they didnt come with any from the main roll bar to the windshield.

so,,,, the owner robbed a couple from a late model and voila they fit right in the old Cj,,, dementions only,, there are of course no holes to bolt them in,,,, so Yep  I welded them in permanently,,, its an off road only machine, and who folds down a jeep windshield anyway?

Dang John, almost sounds like its gettin hot already. We have had a couple weeks of overcast without rain and 70 degree temps. If it wasn't so windy you could paint outside ( ha ha). Pouring down now though. Saturday I re-strung the weedeater and did that first time this year. Pat sounds like a fine southern cook. Ever heard of Natchitoches Meat Pies? mmm. Your fine drink-handlin neigh coulda brought you one for gettin your hands dirty, but he sounds like a pretty good cupholder. Real real glad to hear you are feeling healthy, man.

RNJ now thats bodymannin'- using whatever is available, to fix something bent. I woulda liked to have seen that one!

Speaking of crashing and recliners:

Y'all shoulda seen this mini Cooper I fixed a couple times (female teenager- totalled it three times in six months) up at the Dodge place I worked at. One time it ate a recliner on the freeway. Came in with this huge chair hanging out from under the front ... anytime you break both headlights, you total a Mini.

Chevelle, yeah run what you brung, or use what you got! 383- also perfect. Please stay on that project in one way or another. I guess since theres no motor in it now, it would be OK to go ahead and separate body and frame. If you had the rolling chassis in the floor right in front of you, y'all could not resist fixing on the car. Suddenly you can easily reach everything! With your fab skills and flat floor, you could make a rotisserie for the body shell easier than most folks could build just a dolly. IF you wanna take it that far.

Man you would trip out on the blue Bronco we've got going at the shop. Incredible amount of mods to be lookin so stock. Taking forever though. But one of the mods is a stainless (fold-down) windshield frame with the wipers and motor moved to the bottom. Loaded with late model creature features and pavement bound. I'll show ya later.

Hey heres what I'm currently loving on. Did y'all see the silver '62 truck? I have pics of ALL KINDA projects.

approaching 90 deg today!!  Houston,,, I think we lost a whole season!!

Oh yeah, junkman I dont want to mothball the chevelle by any means!   Body definitely has to come off the frame.

My first order of parts includes body bushings, fuel and brake lines, wiring harness, and what ever it takes to fix the windows and doors, I am gonna remove the glass and see what all awaits around the windshield and rear glass areas,,,,,,,, thinking about it is like watching a scary movie and it real quiet and your waiting for something to pop around the corner and make loud screeching noises along with the violins screeching too LOL

I have kept some extra doors from a few of the old trucks I had just for patch panels and such.

I am sure there will be something needing attention, youll be the first to see that when I get to it.  between here and the poncho site yall will have it covered.

I am gonna have to invest in some more metal working tools especially for the sheet metal, so I will get a list of best recommended tools from you when that time comes.

Hey Bob tuff Junk   Et;all yes It was Uncut Here And Saw Some Scenes I don't remember Like the French Rubber Plantation Owners. That Scene says a lot that Our Government didn't want Us to Know. And If you Younger People don't think men acted like that,I'll tell you the truth.......... It was Worse. that is why Most Vietnam Vets Won't talk about it. I have NO Death wish but I ain't right. When I worked for DuPont we had a guy that got uncut versions of all the big movies. Platoon was a 3.25 hour movie before being cut...I remember I went to the movies to see it when it came out. Then we had a district meeting he brought the movie I'm waiting for this thing to end it was so long...

John

Talked to my Army friend Sunday, his wife divorced him for the lawn mowing dude she used while he was in Iraq. That was not cool, man.  Mad

Damn I had to plug one of my brand new tires yesterday, a body bolt got me  Frown

Time to make like an atom and split. Gotta try and get the Model A in primer so I can take a couple days off!

i think there is a new tire curse sometimes.   we put brand new tires on the wifes escort about 2 months ago and ive had to plug 2 tires already.
gonna do a test fit with the new glass hood today.  im gonna weigh them on a scale to see exactly what the weight difference is.  Matt, i could use a few tips on prepping the hood/gel coat, when you get time one day.
