Hi i have a 350 chevy engine (1997 truck) my oil filter adaptor lines are rusted and leaking oil,i followed these line's and it just circles back into the oil filter adaptor houseing,Can i just disconnect these lines and plug them ? And or can i replace the oil filter adaptor with one without those hose lines on it?  What is that hose there for anyway an oil cooler? It runs up to the front of the engine and up towards the top of the radiator, all in one big circle. Any help appreciated.

That year of motor is probably a vortech 350 and yes they are for an oil cooler usually they would connect to the radiator like the tranny cooler lines do just on the other side. but to answer your question yes you can get rid of them with another oil filter adapter or you can just buy an aftermarket oil cooler to run the lines to.

Go with Wayne's last suggestion.,. get rid of the leaky plastic coupling crap and install the last option he posted, and be done, for a street engine.
