Disc brake compatability

I have a 1963 chevy pickup and i want to convert the front brakes from drum to disc but i want to be cheap...i was wondering what years are compatible with my truck...i dont know where to look to find that type of info. Any advice will be helpful thanks

you can get a disk brake setup from a 71 or 72 truck and bolt the spindles to your control arms, be sure to get the proportioning valve and the master cylinder.

Check out a website for a company called Scarebird, www.scarebird.com, they offer very cheap and good kits that use factory parts easily found for disc brake conversions.

it will probably be over a grand because it will just be cheaper to swap out the rear axel because if you buy the discs the calipers, new wheel bearings, possibly new differential, and that can add up to over a grand depending on what brand you get so you should probably just by a new rear axel with all of that included
