the pistons are alot more dished than i thought (+18cc i think) and they are floating pin style and im taking the block and everything down today. is there any way you guys think i could put this build together on my own ( installing crank pistons and cam bearings? i know i need the block bored for sure and the heads are going to get cleaned up (valve job and clean up the casting marks in the ports) but is it a huge task getting the longblock together, just wondering on your thoughts or should i leave it to the professional and fork over the cash?

If yer up for it, get them to install the cam bearings and take it from there. Just be ready to live with any mistakes.

Have the machine shop do the cam bearings.

yea i took him all of my parts and block and we did a build sheet and it came out to 1300 (with new valve seals and the long block assembled. and thats without trading the heads for $460 in machine work) but im probably going to sell the long block for 900 to my dads co-worker hopefully or i can allways get the $460 from him , and hes painting the block gloss black and im going to get it back next friday Cool im not sure when im dropping it with the new tranny in but hopefully ASAP

+1
Let the machine shop build the bottom end,,, no room for trial and error this time around.
The rest you can do yourself, piece of cake.
Good luck Tyler.
