283 sbc with no side motor mounts ????

how in the hell do i mount a 283 corvette F.I.in my chevyII!!??with no side mount? i have a powerglide now. all i see is the bolt holes in the front lower portion of the motor. between the tranny tail mount and thee front engine holes thats a long gap there dudes!? i'm thinking fabing is the only way i guess? plus it'll be a solid mount too. attached to the framerails somehow. give me your best input please.

Yes early blocks used front mounts aka 55-57 chevy check the chevy 2 part of these forums some one has done this before.

What year Chevy II do you have? GM/Chevrolet didn't go to side-of-block engine mounts until the late 60s, so your Chevy II should have the provisions to use the front of block engine mounts. The key to stability is the transmission mounts. If you're keeping your Powerglide and using the factory Powerglide trans mounts, the front of block mounts will work fine.

see I told ya,but I didn't know about the chevy 2 having prov. for front mount. that makes it a factory parts swap. that is great news for ya.
