is the voltage reg. in my '72 Nova adjustable? All I see is a black plastic 4-spoke wheel thingy inside.

Hello and welcome. Where is your Wookie friend?

I have some books that cover that, but most folks go to an internally regulated alternator and bypass that antique. More info?

I've been spending $ on this car since I got it, need to trim costs for a while now.

OK, I have the info on adjusting a Delco-remy voltage regulator but its four pages and there are a couple tests to do before adjustment. Yes, the voltage, current, and cut-out are all adjustable. I'm not so sure you are looking at the voltage regulator though, the description of the insides doesn't fit. Anyway, if the cover is off and the terminals face you, the voltage adjustment is a phillips screw head in the top right corner.

Hope this helps. If this deal really throws you a curveball, I can scan the pages of my Chilton's book or a Motor manual.
