My first 383 stroker, how much power should my set-up make?

500 hp out of a 383 is possible but it will be radical.
Is this just a strip car or will it be driven daily? If it is the latter this will not be a practical motor.
With only 10-1 compression it will be tough to achieve this a hydraulic roller cam will be a necessity.
Patriot Performance sells one with a hydraulic roller and 10-1 compression that sells for about 5,000. It makes 450hp at 5800 rpm. This would be a fairly good street motor if you are not worried about mileage and a smooth idle.
They do have one that makes 600hp but that has 12-1 compression and a solid roller cam. It also costs another 2,500 more. This would make a good strip motor but not a daily driver.
Now if you really have the bucks and you want some bragging rights, Reher and Morrison racing has a great one. The Super Series 15 degree 427. It is good for 830 hp and is right at home on the drag strip. At 21,500 it is no econo motor but boy would that get some attention.

Yep.
Streetable and 500HP is two things that just don't go together, on a sbc build.

I had a 79 Z-28 4000 pound car. 383 5.7 RODS, 373 POSI, 28" BY 8" SLICKS, 4 SPEED, DOUBLE DISK CLUTCH, 850CFM, 2.02 1.6 441X CASTINGS, FLAT TOPS, ISKY Z-70 CAM, 2 BLUE PUMPS 1/2" I.D. line from tank bong, 2 TEN POUND REGULATORS, 2 #8 fuel lines one to carb with 10lb needle seat and one 10lb line to plate, 250hp NOS PLATE, shifting at 5800RPM Ran 11.65 128MPH NHRA said come back with six point roll cage. I estimate 650hp to do that. All you need is the bottle and a total of 28 degrees advance and ISKY camshaft with 850cfm carb, 4 degrees advance at crankshaft timing indicator, DEGREE CAMSHAFT, RETARD TIMING AT WOT 8 TO 10 DEGREES, VP RACING FUEL, and a roll cage.
HAVE FUN

The speed run in the 1/4 is the best indicator of HP. There are charts that will show roughly what you were making. Mine shows that you are close to your estimated hp with that weight and mph. Your ET was not good for that mph, you must have had traction troubles.
