does anyone know what seats fit nice in a 1972 nova, and fit a guy 6'4" comfortably, beside high priced new seats?

I would say some lowback vinyl bucket seats. The bad thing is they cost about $350.00 each. They look real good though.

Here are a set of 2000 Grand Am buckets that are in my 79 Nova which should fit just as easily into your 72.  Had to shim one corner of each seat and drill a couple new holes, but they work and I'm 6'2" with plenty of head room to spare.  In fact the drivers seat, where it's positioned in my car, can slide far enough back I can't reach the pedals.  It will still slide far enough forward to squish me against the steering wheel and I have a 36" waist.  These seats are usually easy to find in the junk yards and are fairly cheap...maybe $100/pair.

+1 Roam a late model salvage yard and just look around. I scored a pair of 88 Cavalier seats for $40. I also have a pair kinda like Mike's stashed, with manual lumbar adjustment. With a little adaptation, just about any seat you like can be made to fit. Laugh  Whatever you do, be sure they are very securely installed so they don't come loose on a dragstrip launch or in a collision. Either is bad news.
