I have a 2005 Monte Carlo SS with a 3.8 Supercharged. I like it there is NO Lag when I step on it. Check to see if your newer engine is a DBW or a Cable throttle. That will make a difference....

gix, unfortunately you're still in the wrong place to get any informed technical answers about forced induction on 3800s. Try 3800pro or a 4th gen camaro site.

link to 3800pro forum, click me gix6

I guess you found out that a GTP supercharger doesn't fit a Camaro. Did you know you can buy complete engines for less than your used supercharger (or was it new)?

You'll soon regret adding aftermarket forced induction of any kind on any stock N/A 3800. There are important internal design differences in the blown and un-blown versions of the 3800.

If you can tell me what the major internal difference is between an L36 and L67 3800, I might be wrong in assuming that you don't have tons of experience with hot rodding engines. I am assuming you don't because it sounds like you want to put a supercharger or twin turbos on an engine that is stock. When "you rebuilt" the engine, what main bearing tolerance did you establish? What type of pistons did you use? How much boost do you want to run, how fast do you want to go, and how much money you got to get there with?

Seems to me that I vaguely recall reading were a guy might be interested in a 3.8 motor for his s-10 project. If I could only remember were I saw that. Confused

Scott, yep that was me, over on CHP. Wasn't wanting an L67 for that though. A '75 GMC sprint popped up on CL here and I want to go look, its cheap enough and I need a bed. Probably gonna just keep driving the GP until it croaks, for the MPG.

gix, heres a link to a thread on a sister site, where a guy walks through souping up a Firebird with a 3800. Lots of good info for you on this post -

I know it's hard to imply tone on a forum.

I was just trying to instigate a little without calling out any names.

I read an article a week ago. Kenne Bell has made a Twin Screw for the SB Chevy. You have to have deep pockets for $6,999.
