Besides the double hump heads are there any other differences between the 2 engines?

They are both 10.5 to 1 compression.  What modern fuel will they run on?  Do the valve seats have to be redone for survivability?

The corvette 327 is 11:1- what modern fuel do they run on?

thanks

garygbNJ welcome to Super Chevy.

Is there a reason you need to have the engine specs? If so I'll dig them up for you.

Does the NJ in your name garygbHJ mean New Jersey. If so there are a couple guys on the Super Chevy site from there...

Just some FYI for CHP guys:

I finally found my Chevy and Ford specs. Depending on your application I can get you CarburetorNumbers intake manifold numbers etc. All I can say is no I don'thave the number.

i would say yes, you need hardened exhaust seats for todays unleaded gas.   11.1 is about the max compression for todays gas, if you have aluminum heads.   cast iron,...10.1 max.

+1 Joe:

I would do both intake and exhaust valve seats. With the heavy valve spring loads it will really raise hell with the valve seats. Plus the heat of the combustion temps.

Did you see any of the Dega 500?..
