I have a 1973 Sport Coupe Monte Carlo. They produced 4,960 of them and a total of 290,693 Monte's in 1973. The car is still completely stock as it came out of the showroom, minus the radio, wheels and tires, battery, belts and hoses. It came from the factory with a 454, 400 turbo trans, dual exhaust, and a 10-bolt limited slip rear.

I am in the Marine Corps. I am currently deployed with the 31st MEU. I am going to turn the car into a tribute to Fallen Marines of Iraq and Afghanistan. It is going to be red with gold eagle, globe, and anchors on the doors and deck lid.

I am replacing the 454 turbo jet with a 598 BBC and a tremec 6 speed manual trans. I want to flush mount the front and rear windows and block out the opera windows. The 10 bolt is going to be replaced by a Ford 9 inch. I am not sure what gears to use, yet. The wheels will be 18x14 in the rear and 18x10 in the front. The brakes will be getting upgraded to a four wheel disc system.

I will start getting the supplies early next year after I return from deployment.
