Does anyone have any info on these engines looking at one to purchase trying to find out what can be done with one and what kind of hp/tq do they make stock. Thanks. Came out of 2500 HD silverado.

the 8.1 liter is actually a 496 and unfortunatly there is only upgrades like cold air intakes tuners maby some headers. these are one of thoes (odd ball) engines. I think they make around 300 to 330 HP and 390 to 425 LB TQ These engines can not run a typical distributor because of the special block.
