This is the truck that I brought my son home in from the hospital and now it will be his to drive. It's in great shape only thing is...it goes dead when sitting idle. Runs fine as long as you are going down the road but stop at a light and it goes dead...put it in R to back out of yard and it goes dead....I've replaced the O2 sensor is it the idle Air control valve??? Please help

Sounds like either the idle air control valve and/or the map sensor has gone bad.
Change the idle air control valve first, see if that fixes the problem.

do you have any check engine lights on. if not then take off the tbi unit and clean it up good. I recomend a tbi unit rebuild. could just be the idle air circut is clogged up. if the check engine light is on jump off the comp terminal and find out what the codes are.

Unplug the TPS and hook a ohm meter to the two outside wires of the unit and watch and see if the action is smooth or not, if not replace the TPS. The TPS will not set a code if it has any "flat" or "dead" spots.
