I went to take the door off to fix a few dents in it, to do that I didn't realize that I did not need to loosen the nuts that connect the hing to the door it self, now its all out of alignment and the door doesn't shut properly, it shuts but have to slam it to shut. Can anyone help me and tell me or possibly show me how to fix it/realign it so that it does shut properly? Thanks. Been trying a whole week to do it my self with no luck, and really don't have the money to go to a car shop. Oh ya it is a 2005 Chevy Malibu classic and the door is the front passenger door.

you will have to loosen the hinged and raise the door as the hinges are slotted slightly.. until it fits...
i googled and found a bunch of answers.. copy and paste the link .. there will be dozens of links...

you have to think about what you are doing.. if you need the right side up.. where the latch is.. you need to raise the hinge side...

Its gonna take you a lot of trial and error, I would try loosening the hinge bolts and use just one to hold the door in position and make very small ajustments to the hinge this will make a lot of difference at the latch. I have spent hours doing this on my vehicles. This is usually done with the front fenders off the car
