89 Iroc Z TPI questions.

Ive got an 89 Iroc Z a while back. The motor was DOA(350TPI). I picked up an 85 vette motor(350TPI), trans and computer, harness. Im in the middle of that right now, waiting on my money to catch back up. I plan on using the 89 computer and harness and the 85 motor and just replacing the tpi stuff on top. I just wanted to know what are the key sensors and whatnot that have to be hooked up, is there another way to go about this, do i have to have the smog pump and the tpi exhaust manifold. Is it easier to pull the trany out the bottom and then pull the motor or just both out the top.
