I read your article about the Danger Mouse 307. With Edelbrock 170 E-Tec heads, Performer intake, Comp Cams' hydraulic cam you made 338 ft-lbs of torque and 315 H.P.
I would not duplicate this build. I suggest that you change the intake to a Vortec Performer Air-gap, and try a Comp Cams 12-700-B mechanical roller cam. This cam has 224 degrees duration at .050 lift and .525 lift on the intake and exhaust. I bet this engine would make 400+ ft-lbs of torque and 400 H.P. and be very streetable. I would be willing to spend the extra dollars and adjust valves periodically for another 80 or 90 horses. Last, but not least, show us the real potential of the Edelbrock 170 E-Tec heads, they are very under utilized on the present engine.
