Ok. So I just found an engine and it has the numbers 393286 stamped on it. The Heads have the numbers 3932441 b27-9 and the other b25-9. Any help would be appreciated so that I know what route to go.. Oh yeah. I took the oil pan off and its a 4 bolt main. Thanks.

My heads have the same casting numbers on them. Except mine had GM 23 and a F-10.I couldnt look any further because my block is still in my Car.i researched and only found out that it was a 327 or 350 from 1967-1969. Has 76cc chambers. 1.96/ 1.50 valves and used for 250-255 hp.That info was found on Mortec.com Id like to learn more as well. <<<<<<BUMP>>>>>>

The valve size on those is 1.94/150 not 1.96/1.50.

okay.. so with that said. how could i rebuild this to get a good amount of torque to push this boat of a car on a daily basis and still sound mean. Its going into a 72 impala . the 4 door version. i have the stock 350 but i feel its gonna die pretty soon. would like to be able to turn some heads with rumble and acceleration.

My Chevrolet parts interchange says the heads are: "no high- or special high performance Usage: 1969-70 350ci 2bbl" They are 76cc combustion chambers (low compression) and are most likely 1.94/1.5 valves. So they are nothing special, unfortunatly.
Check the casting number on the block again. I think you left out a number. Is it 3932386? If so the book says "Usage: 1968-69 Camero Z-29 Notes: No special block was used for this powerplant. Instead, the high-performance 350ci four bolt block was used. Note, though, that special engine ID code was used for this engine."
Now Mortec, like Frank mentioned, is a great place to go for decoding. I checked with them as well and your Block acording to them could either be a 302 (which are highly sought after by certain people) or a 350 since it was a four bolt main.
Look at the back of the block on the other side of the webbing for the tranny mount from the casting number (pass side) and get the date code. Date codes are easy to figure out. For example one of your heads is B279. "B" is the second letter in the alphabet and that is the month. So it would be February. The "27" is the day of the month and the "9" is for 1969 since they only made that casting 69 & 70. So Feb 27, 1969.
As for what you should do to rebuild it. I would use a mild cam. Call up a place like Comp cams and ask their oppinion. They also have an awsome cam program you can download for free. You tell the software what engine it is and it's specifics and it will tell you what you need. My guess is you need somewhere around a comp 268H. The heads are not good for your application(too low performance). I would try to sell or barter them. A lot of people are running Vortec heads on SBC's and love them. It's priven that they will make you 20-30 horsepower over old 60's-70's hi-performance heads. They aren't too pricey even if you buy them new. Summit sells a set of Vortec GM performance Parts heada for $600 part #NAL-12464298.
