back in the late 70s or early 80s I found plans for an engine stand for a sbc which you could rotate engine end over end and also run the engine on it> I used these plans to build one and it worked great, but over time it has been lost. These plans were in one of these mags {PHR, super chevy,CHP, HotRod} does any one remember this? I would really like to find plans to build another the stand actually bolted to the motor mount bolt holes which allowed for the end over end rotation and ability to attach flywheel for running engine, really slick

most of the current batch of engine stands allow you to rotate the motor ... with muscle power... i try to center mine as close to the cam center line as i can when bolting the engine to the bracket..
most steel suppliers have a chart of square steel tubing that will slide inside another size with a nice slip fit...
i have fired up engines on the engine stand for years... the last one i turned around and pointed into the shop where the boss was napping in his car... he thought the world was coming to an end... and it was his motor...

I do appreciate the feedback, I do have a bell housing bolt hole stand but never tried to fire an engine on it do to the fact that it is kinda cheaply built also would need to make spacers for the mounting bolts to allow me to bolt on flywheel I was just hoping someone had remembered these plans and which publication they were in {sort of sentimental more than any thing else}really not to hard to devise this stand but plans would make things a snap.
