Ok my and my buddy just started his rebuilt chevy 350. We kind of had to rig up an alternator bracket but it works.Now after it runs for awhile the alternator pulley gets so hot it sizzles when water hits it. Nothing else on the alternator gets hot just the pulley.

Is the belt slipping because a slipping belt can cause this problem.

yes the belt isnt exactly tight on there.
