i have a 4 bolt main block id like to build 400+ hp out of. at what rmp range should i consider for going with forged crank rods etc? also does any one know where i can find out wich heads will work with the cam i have to get an idea of what i need to put in this motor?

I would go with forged rods for anything over 6000RPM and the stock crank should be fine up to 6500.
Gm did put out std rods and X-casting rods the X-rods are more heavy duty and with ARP rod bolts they should be fine up to the 6000RPM range.

ya thats what im thinking. my biggest problem i am trying to get through is matching heads cam and intake. do you have any advice?

i have no idea yet. i have a 4 bolt main block that needs to be machined, thats my start so far. i have a cam from a previous motor i want to use. but im trying ti figure out how much i can get out of it on mostly stock internals to reach around 400hp, if that can be done.

Ok for the cam I would go with this one P#LUN-07102LK.
For the heads I would go with these P#SUM-152123.
For the intake manifold either one of these will work fine P#SUM-226010 or edl-7501.
