i have a 1986 gmc sierra with a 383 stroker in it . its got a high performance cam in it but i can hear it at all. i got it from a guy that builds pullin trucks. i am not shure what size cam is in it and he cant remember what he put in it but the man that built it said that it should cam hard. Dont know what the prob is. the timing is a little high but i dont know what to set the timming at so i got it close by ear. ive got a 450 card on it and it was runing rich u could smell the gas and see black smoke coming out of the pipes so i had it ajusted but now i think it is running to lean. NEED HELP

I assume you mean 450 cfm carb and that is way too small for a 383, you need at least 650 cfm for your 383. It will be difficult to tune.
