I have a 69 pickup and i want to put my cab and bed on a 94 frame along with a 383 stroker. what kind of problems will i run into? i know i might have a problem with the braking system being so different. Is it worth it? i work at a scrap recycling company and i can get the frame for about $50. should i wait for a different frame? i want the newer suspension without having to spend thousands of dollars. i need some suggestions.

Well for those of you interested, i did find an 89 frame and began working on it, i found out the the frame width was different by 13 inches, no biggie, a few mounts and some welding would fix that, then i found that from 72 to 73 the cab became 4 inches longer, which ment that i would have to cut the frame so that i could have the same distance from center to center of my wheels.
I then found a 71 shortbed frame with disk brakes dirt cheat so i just went with that. I did quite a bit of research and ACAD drawings so if anyone is interested feel free to ask.

It is easier to find a long bed frame and cut it down it is very easy with normal tools and welder. There are even templates out there that lay out the cuts on the frame (to keep the frame strength) so there is no guess work. I have even considered this for my own projects.

Wow, the frames are that different? I know of a truck that pops up in my area from time to time that is a tri 5 truck cab on top of a 90's short bed stepside bed, frame and running gear. I love the idea. except the new bed with old cab. No Bueno.
