Would it be fairly simple to swap a cadillac 468 with a 1979 chevy truck 454? Thanks.

ooohhhh!!!!!
lets straighten this out...
cad did make a motor that said.. 468 on the air filter and valve covers... but if you noticed the weird stepped valve covers... and electric connectors on the top...
it is actually a 350 olds or a 368 cad.. motor... but it had solenoids to cut out the rocker arms function.. just like the current motors... they figured out how to do it on new motor and you don't even know it.. the motors usually had labels.. that said... V8-6-4
cad made... 429 motors.. 472 motors.. 500 motors and then reduced them to 368 as the last cast iron cad motor...
a lot of people have pulled complete 429, 472 and 500 cubic inch cad motors with the turbo 400 on the back and dropped them into 58 to 72 chevy trucks for years...
there is one thing that is strange.. the 429, 472, 500 cad motors used the big block chevy exhaust bolt pattern and spacing.. but the port design was slightly different.. but you can use big block chevy headers with a 1/4 inch spacer to make them fit without leaks..
oh... and remember the north star motors.. that said they could run without coolant for 50 miles.. they did that by cutting off 4 fuel injectors for a while.. letting the cylinders cool with just air going through... then switch to the other 4 to let them cool...

I thing this engine is not a good one for the dually. I think you would be better using the 472 or 500. I knew a guy who installed a 1969 eldorado 500ci In a 1970 c20 truck with 3.73 gears and damn that truck would haul a$$.
