I HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY 327 IM REBUILDING.. I HAD THE CRANK TURNED AND THE BLOCK BORED 40 OVER. NEW PISTONS, RINGS, MAIN AND ROD BEARINGS. I BOUGHT THE ENGINE FROM SOME GUY I DONT KNOW TO WELL. I THINK HE MIGHT HAVE GAVE ME A ROD BEARING CAP THAT DOESNT GO WITH THIS ENGINE. THE CRANK SLIGHTLY HANGS UP WHEN I TURN IN. STILL ON ENGINE STAND. I STARTED PULLING OFF PISTONS THAT I THOUGHT COULD BE THE PROBLEM. NOTHING CHANGED UNTILL I GOT TO PISTON NO.3. THE ROD CAP WAS HARD TO TAKE OFF. I BELEIVE ITS TO SMALL. HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE. ANY WAY I CAN CONFIRM THIS.

I agree that its out of round on either the crank or rod maybe in the ristpin. The bearing might be out as well. Get piston and rod checked for straightness and check the bearing for warpadge.

Cap placement should not matter as long as the cap was put back on the rod that it was resized with.
When I said installed correctly I meant is the cap facing the right way were both bearing notches on the same side.
If the rod is removed from the engine do you feel any binding at the wrist pin.

YEAH I INSTALLED THEM CORRECT. YOU SEE IT SEEMS THAT THE CAP IS TOO SMALL FOR THE ROD BECAUSE WHEN I TRY INSTALLING THE CAP, THE BOLTS ARE TOO NARROW. I HAVE PRETTY MUCH FORCE IT ON. I DONT HAVE THAT PROBLEM WITH ANY OF THE OTHER RODS. THE CAPS JUST SLIP RIGHT ON.

To post pics right here you have to use a upload site like photobucket
or post them in the readers rides section along with your regal and then you could always remove them later.
