hi i have a 427 tall deck i put in dome pistons and longer rods had it balanced, my cam is good to 6600 but the engine does not wanna rev. it has a dual point distributor 750 holley headers and 2.5" exhaust that exits in front of rear tires. if any one sees why im not gettin the rpms i want please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!

check your valve spring rate. Your valves could be floatting. Might need a stiffer spring.

no thats not it this past winter i had the heads reworked to match the cam

im not sure but it does not seem to be running out of fuel. but i'll look into that

If fuel volume and presure is not the problem. Check to see if the carb might be a little to small. It might be acting like a restrictor plate. 750 carb should be good though. Might need to step up to an 850 or 900 carb if you have a big cam.
Also if your not running an air cleaner, the turbulance could be taking the air fuel mix out of the carb.

Is the cam timed correctly? I think it might be 180 degrees out. I had an engine that ran good but, it would not rev past 4500 rpms and was very weak. once we reset the timing chain it ran great.

no it runs too good to be 180 out. i took the plug out of the scoop and it helped alot now i think it needs a new fuel pump
