i currently have a 93 sierra with a 350 mated up to the stock 700r4 tranny which recently stripped 3rd gear. instead of rebuilding this tranny i am debating on weather i would like to swap it for a t400 a budy of mine has for the awesome price of 325$ but i have never done a tranny swap so i have no idea if this will fit with no major problems i do know it will work with the motor but what all do i need to do to complete this swap. i wanna do it myself so i will get some experiance in doing that kinda work on my truck, and save myself a butt load of cash.

No. I had to look it up because the year messed me up. In 93 the trans that went in was a 4l60E. this trans is identical to the 700r4 even most hard parts. The differance is the valve body. The 4L60E is all electric and computer controled.

If you put in the t400 trans your going to through off the computer and nothing will run right.

sorry to say but you need the trans you got.

What you can do is get a vett trans from 93 to 95 and after you put it in take it to a chevy dealer to get that trans put in sink with the truck.

You're gonna be better off in the long run rebuilding the trans you've got.
