1990 gen IV 40 over with flat tops 454 with 1966 396 oval closed chamber heads thinging of building a stroker motor what cam should i use,intake would like to get 450 to 500 hp

I would check out lunati cams a flat tappet hydraulic with .540-560 lift and a team-G intake or a performer RPM air gap.

Go with a hydraulic roller, you'll be a lot happy, more power too. I'd call Comp, give them the specs on your combo, see what they recommend.
