I recently had my car on ebay with some mistakes. Another web site showed my mistakes and I corrected them on the listing, claiming my bad. The overseas buyer got one heck of a deal, everyone knew it so they claimed that I refused the buyer the rights to the car. The buyer did inform me on day seven after the auction that he would not be able to get the car. I am in contact with him and he can verify the story, he offered to pay my ebay fees and I am on record stating that I will not file any claim with ebay for his failure to comply with auction rules, furthermore, not one ebay negative against me.
My name and my car have been dragged through the mud on the other web site and it garnered over 11,000 views. Soon I had people from Australlia and Europe posting to other sites that I was in fact the bad guy. The story has become world wide and people are really wondering what happened to my wonderful car. I left many people hanging and that is where it is now.
I was publisher until 1992 and I can tell you this much, this article will sell. I have every word and false accusation documented very very well.
The car is a 1969 Camaro Z28 X33 that I have installed an L88 427 motor. The L88 is the closest thing to the million dollar ZL1 Camaro's 427, just one peice is different. The L88 was only sold in Corvettes with fewer than 250 produced. Camaro Research Group drew their own conclusions and stated that the L88 would have been a better motor for the Camaro than the ZL1 for a number of reasons.
I am now in the process of documenting this car as well as I can, even willing to pay for the best help in doing so. I will also take it to some shops for their opinions as to wether anything is needed mechanically or not. Then I will do my best to find a website like this that can help me make the best listing I can make without my mistakes. If this is done we will then have proof that your website did in fact help an admitted dummy make things right, after all, isn't that what these sites are for?
Thanks, David
