Ive got a 85 Corvette 350 tpi complete motor transmission with computer and harness. I need to put this motor and trans in a 1989 iroc z 350 tpi. Should i or do i need to use the 85 computer and wiring harness.

NO NOT AT ALL. The 2 motors are like night and day. not to mention you might burn up something. just pull everything and install the vette stuff. keep it simple.

Ok. Stick with the '89 computer, it's better than the '85 unit.
The two motors aren't that dissimilar. The biggest difference is the 89 engine was a roller motor, the 85 motor uses a flat tappet cam. Both engines actually had the same HP rating. you want to use the '89 Camaro TPI system (it'll bolt right on) it's better than the '85 system, with the improved progressive throttle linkage.
Just take the '85 long block and bolt it right in place of your '89 long block, use all the peripherals, wiring harness, and computer from the '89 Camaro. I will suggest, while you've got the motor out and it's easy, put a mild roller cam in the '85 motor, one that'll work with the stock '89 Camaro computer. Call Comp Cams tech line, they'll get you set up right.
You won't burn anything up using the '89 Camaro stuff.
