Oh a good rebuild kit will come with cam bearings and I recomend replacing them with a rebuild. Were are you getting a rebuild kit from northern,paw,etc.

1.94 NTAKE AND 1.50 STAINLESS EXHAUST VALVES 64CC# 14096217 ?? 5 bones more than the 601's

was looking at a kit from promar for 300 bones.. but it had alot of stuff i dont need like cam timng lifter etc. alls i need is piston rings,rod,main,cam bearings, freeze plugs and gaskets. right?

THE 14096217 are not what you want those heads will lower the C.R too much. try northernautoparts.com I think they have a comp cam as a upgrade with a .450 or so lift that will work just fine for you.

I found this kit from northernautoparts.com part number EK1021A or EK1021B. It sais its for my app. So this kit with the 601 heads, crane energizer with 278 dur. .467 lift 110 lobe seperation, edel. performer intake, 650 carb, hook headers. hows it going to do?

The EK-0984 should be what you want and the elgin .450 or .458 should work fine.

So 601 heads. flattops with 8.84 comp. will this be ok?

Yes the 601 heads and flat top pistons should be fine and should put you around 9:1CR.

The kit you mentioned comes with clevite bearings and I have had problems with them they are very soft and I would not recomend them. The kit I posted comes with federal mogul bearings and they are what I use and have never had a problem out of them.
