ok so im thinking about making my 3.4L a crate v8 but i have no idea where to start or what kind of hassle im looking at. id like to know the best v8 to chose and what parts id need to make it all work together. if u can help or have gone through this before then please let me know what im looking at thanks

i have a 93 camaro 3.4L auto. and i want to know how big of a motor i can put in it? and what other parts ill have to replace like trans and so on

Ok thats what I thought. Befor I get in to this, you need to know that any motor that you put in is going to need to be low pro fuel injection system. Carb motor are to tall. The cowl and firewall gets in the way. Big blocks are just to big. So my sugestion would be to get a parts car out the junkyard. preff. out with an LS1. Take everthing and swap it out. motor, trans, rearend, wireing, and everything else. That way you are starting with a bad ass car to begin with.

ok thank u thats a great idea i just dont know why i didnt think of it first i feel like a dumn ass lol thank u and now i start my search for a parts car.
oh so i just got my new ecu for my car do you know if it really needs to be reprogrammed to work with my car? or can i just switch out the chips and be done with it?

The ecu on a 93 is on the pass. side rear in the engine compartment. Can't miss it. as long as its a V6 ecu then just replace the ecu. If it a V8 ecu then it needs to be reprogramed by chevy dealer. From 93 and up there are no chips just ecu's. your should be ok.

are u sure i dont need to reprogram it the dealer told me i did but if i dont have to then id rather not u know what i mean? um thank u man you have given me alot of help thank

also the new ecu is out off a junked camaro thats the same year and model as mine. i got it off the net i was told that it works so if i dont have to reprogram it then ill be vary happy that i dont have to pay $220 at the dealer!

ok so i swapped the ecu out and so far so good she runs good and im not getting the service light which is good but i need to give it a day or to just to make sure its really fixed. so thank you again and im hoping im done fixing the car for now other then the heat/ac vacuum check valve i broke it a few weeks ago ops.

lol good to here. hope everything is good. Need any more help just drop me a line. I have a thing for F body's. I have a built 85 trans am myself. (yes everyone it has a 700hp chevy 383 sb.) and a daily driver.
