1998 silverado Radio/CD problems

I have a 1998 silverado truck that has spent more time in storage than on the road in the past six years. Last year when I got the truck out, I attempted to put a cd in as it would show error. It will not read any cd I put into it. Is there anything that I can do to see why it is not reading a cd? It worked before really good, but from setting, it just does not want to read a cd. Thanks  

Could be dust build up in the CD player on the eye of the laser. I'd pull the radio out of the dash and blow it out with some compressed air (a can like you'd use on a computer, not shop compresssed air!)
