I want to swap out the 4.3L V6 for a 5.7L V8, but Im tring to keep from changing the computer, or wiring harness.  Someone told me to just change the PROM computer chip to read for a 5.7L.  Is it that Easy????

You have to change the computer box, the V-6 box is different from a V-8 box.

Changing the engine compartment wiring harness is easy, it plugs into the firewall. Just find an '87-'96 V-8 truck and get the engine compartment harness, and get the computer box for an '87 350 truck.
